The Department of English & Communication at UMass Dartmouth seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mass Communication to begin September 1, 2026. We seek an expert in Mass Communication to teach in our B.A. in Communication and M.A. in Professional Writing & Communication programs, which are grounded in rhetorical studies and focus on journalism, technical communication, digital/multimodal communication, and strategic communication. Successful candidates will demonstrate ways curriculum and research will expand opportunities and experiences for our diverse students. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is one of five UMass campuses, located on the South Coast of Massachusetts between Cape Cod and Rhode Island in a region well known for its beautiful beaches and scenic harbors. About an hour from Boston and 45 minutes from Providence, the South Coast provides opportunities for rural or urban living with access to major metropolitan areas and natural coastal environments.
