About The Position

The Law and Society Program at Thomas Jefferson University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Law and Society with scholarly and professional expertise in legal studies, law and related areas who will teach in the Law and Society Program starting August 15, 2026. Responsibilities will include scholarship and/or practice, teaching, and potentially course development, and career and internship advising for students in the program. The successful candidate will contribute to the intellectual and community life of the College of Humanities and Sciences through scholarly and professional work in law, politics, public policy, and other relevant areas.

Requirements

  • Established trajectory of scholarship and/or practice within law, law and society, government and politics, legal studies, public policy, criminal justice, or other relevant areas
  • Collaborative and open to creating synergies across disciplinary areas
  • Terminal degree required in a relevant academic area (Ph.D.) or in the practice of law (J.D.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching at a university level is desirable, as is professional experience in law and related areas
