About The Position

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Akron (https://www.uakron.edu/chemistry) invites applications for two (nontenure-track) Assistant Professor positions starting in August 2026. Required Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in Physics or closely-related fields. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience is preferred but not required. The mission of the Department of Chemistry is to provide high quality undergraduate education through community-engaged teaching, research, and service. (Physics faculty are members of the Chemistry Department). As an urban research university, The University of Akron strives to deliver applied and community-connected educational experiences.
