About The Position

Assistant Professor of Instruction in Mathematics Required Qualifications A Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics. Candidates whose degree is in a closely related field must meet SACS accreditation standards to teach in a mathematics department. Significant undergraduate teaching experience as an instructor of record (or comparable experience). Demonstrated competence in teaching mathematics. Preferred Qualifications A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related area. A documented record of effectiveness in classroom instruction. An ability to contribute to departmental missions related to instruction both in and outside of the classroom. Ability to teach statistics courses or courses involving scientific computing.
