About The Position

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Applied Engineering seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Applied Engineering position, starting August 2026. Courses taught may include: Circuits and Systems, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Linear Control Systems, PLCs, Electronic Communications, Digital Signal Processing, and other courses as assigned. This position also works with a university in China to deliver courses face to face in China; and also has corresponding committee work and assisting with student activities.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or foreign equivalent in Computer or Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to teach electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology courses at the university or community college level as shown by a seminar presentation, interview, and/or experience
  • Willingness to travel to China 25% of the academic year to teach a course in English as part of a partnership program required
