About The Position

the Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in History, beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in United States history, including but not limited to history of the U.S. West. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach the Department’s annual Oklahoma History course for teacher certification as well as both halves of the United States and Western Civilization history surveys. Candidates with expertise in a non-United States field and teacher certification will also receive consideration. The standard teaching load is a 4/4, with the opportunity to teach summer. Other responsibilities include: advising, serving the university and community, and maintaining an active research agenda. East Central University is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in History preferred; ABD in History required.
