About The Position

The Department of History at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas seeks a tenure-track faculty member, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (commensurate with experience) in History beginning August 1, 2026. The focus of the position is Modern European History, 1500-present. The successful candidate will teach a variety of upper-level courses in Early Modern and Late Modern European History as well as the World Civilization since 1500 survey. The area of research interest is open. Applications must be submitted by January 16, 2026. Only complete applications will be considered. Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include teaching four classes per semester, both surveys and more focused upper-division classes.
  • Additional responsibilities include engagement in and service to the department, college, and community.
  • Such engagement or service to the college would typically include full participation in faculty events and engagement in faculty responsibilities.
  • The successful candidate will maintain a strong research agenda and broad teaching interests.
