About The Position

POSITION: Assistant Professor of English - Writing Studies: The Department of English at California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Writing Studies. The successful candidate will have opportunities to shape the future of our writing program and participate in Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives and leadership.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Writing Studies or a closely related field (earned by the time of appointment).
Evidence of effective teaching and an active research agenda.

Nice To Haves

Scholarly interest in one of the following areas: composition pedagogy, professional writing, digital rhetorics, or AI literacy.
Experience, training, or education n writing program administration, WAC/WID, or related leadership roles.
Engagement with community partnerships or public-facing scholarship.
A potential candidate's consideration will be enhanced with evidence of (or potential for) successful and innovative teaching experiences at the undergraduate level, and a commitment to support a diverse student body with a variety of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in writing studies, professional writing, and related areas.
Maintain an active program of scholarship.
Contribute to curriculum development and writing program initiatives.
Provide academic advising and mentoring to English majors and graduate students.
Participate in service to the department, college, and university.
