Position Information This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. The ability to teach traditional (lab-based) and online undergraduate and graduate courses is expected. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate research program. The applicant is expected to help with improving the Mechanical Engineering Technology and M.S. in Engineering Technology & Management programs including further development of lab and teaching resources, curriculum development, and contribute to ABET accreditation. The Department of Engineering Technology at SHSU has 700+ undergraduate students and offers 40+ different Engineering Technology courses. The new academic building - Fred Pirkle Engineering Technology Center - houses faculty offices, classrooms, CAD/CAM, electronics, rapid prototyping, innovation, material testing, and alternative energy labs. The department also maintains the Westmoreland Engineering Technology Center and Annex A, B, and C buildings which house the virtual reality, safety, woodworking, metalworking, CNC, material testing, and fluid power labs.
