The Department of Economics at MSU Denver invites applications for a full-time tenure track position. This is a nine month faculty appointment beginning Fall 2026. We seek a teacher-scholar whose work centers on monetary theory and policy, with emphasis on the political economy and institutional design of U.S. central banking. We are especially interested in candidates whose research engages topics such as rules-based policy, monetary disequilibrium, nominal GDP targeting, and alternative monetary arrangements. A complementary area of interest is the history of economic ideas as it pertains to monetary institutions and public choice analysis (without requiring specialization in History of Economic Thought broadly).
