About the Division of Medical Oncology The Division of Oncology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is a dynamic and expanding program within the Department of Medicine, dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education. Faculty provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cancer care across UTMB's four hospitals - Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton Danbury - offering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, multidisciplinary management of complex malignancies, and participation in innovative clinical trials. The Division is deeply committed to advancing cancer care through research, education, and collaboration, working closely with surgical, radiation, and palliative care teams to deliver compassionate, patient-centered treatment tailored to each individual's needs. Our ACGME-accredited Medical Oncology Fellowship Program trains nine fellows across three years, offering a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum supported by dedicated faculty mentors and a wide range of clinical and research experiences. The Division also plays an active role in medical student and resident education, contributing significantly to UTMB's academic and training missions.
