Assistant Professor of Clinical - Neurology, General
About The Position
The department Neurology has an exciting opportunity. The incumbent will be appointed at the rank of non-tenure earning Assistant Professor Level, on the clinical educator track in The General Neurology Division, Department of Neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. The incumbent will carry out clinical care primarily providing o utpatient clinical care at Neurology satellite clinics . W ill participate in the education of neurology residents and fellows along with conducting research and mentoring residents/fellows with their research.
Requirements
- Requires an MD degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent).
- Good communications skills (face to face, over the phone and in writing)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other employees.
- Good organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- General Neurology Fellowship is preferred
- Neurology board certification is strongly recommended
Responsibilities
- Treatment and prevention of neurological disease, specializing in the treatment and Care for patients of general neurologic disorders in the outpatient settings throughout UHealth
- Train/mentor residents and fellows to increase their clinical fund of knowledge and interest/success with academic research
- Preparation and presentation at teaching conferences
- Obtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awards
- Provide coverage on new inpatient service as needed
