The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) is part of the University of North Texas System, which also includes UNT Denton and the UNT Health Fort Worth. UNT Dallas, which is a standalone university in southern Dallas, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Chemistry, beginning Fall 2026. This tenure-track position is being offered at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to participate in continued development of the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences, which offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry, and has plans to launch a Master's degree in Biotechnology in Fall 2027. We are particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can help lead the development of UNT Dallas's Department of Natural Sciences through program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. We seek an experienced leader in Analytical Chemistry who can contribute to both the Biology and Chemistry program by teaching a range of chemistry courses and chemistry-related courses for the Master's in Biotechnology degree. This new faculty member is expected to develop an active research program with undergraduates and will also be responsible for advising student organizations and developing courses and programs. The Department of Natural Sciences is well equipped for teaching and scholarship and will be moving into a state-of-the-art, 115,000 square foot Science Building (complete with a variety of brand new analytical instrumentation including GC/MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, HPLC, and MP-AES) in Fall 2025.
