About The Position

The highly ranked Department of Chemistry of the University of Wisconsin-Madison is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position, beginning August 2026. We seek outstanding candidates from all areas of the chemical sciences whose research interests broadly intersect with biologically relevant themes such as human healthspan, immunology, and disease. The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching and (undergraduate student) mentoring. They will contribute to an environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community A successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous research program in their area of specialization, teach chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges and perform professional and university service as appropriate. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of L&S, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college’s commitment to excellence among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service. Requirements

  • Candidates must have the potential to develop a vigorous research program in their field of specialization.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster teaching, learning, mentoring, departmental, and a research environment where all can thrive.
  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required by the start of appointment.
