About The Position

The Faculty of Nursing at Carthage College is responsible for didactic and clinical teaching in the department's nursing programs, maintaining competence in an area of nursing practice, and providing service to the College and the community. The Wisconsin Board of Nursing granted Carthage the approval to admit students in December of 2014. The Higher Learning Commission granted permission for Carthage to offer the BSN in August, 2015. The Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate College Education with renewal in 2033. The program is strong and expanding. Responsibilities: Along with the Director of Nursing and the Associate Dean of the School of Health and the Dean of the School of Health ensures that the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Nurse Educator program aligns with the institution's mission and addresses current healthcare needs and future trends. Implements the MSN curriculum, ensuring it meets the standards of professional bodies, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) [see AACN Essentials], and relevant state boards of nursing. Drive the initial accreditation process with CCNE from candidacy application through the initial site visit, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Provide administrative oversight for the program, and overseeing student advisement. Teach didactic and/or clinical courses within the MSN program at minimum 50% of workload, demonstrating expertise in the subject matter and innovative teaching practices. Teach in BSN program for 25% of workload. Maintain an active program of service that advances the nursing profession. Participate in departmental, school, and college committees, representing the program to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications: Education: Earned Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP) in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience: Significant experience in nursing education, online teaching best practices, and curriculum development. Experience with accreditation is highly desirable. Requirements
