About The Position

The Sports, Arts, Entertainment and Music Business (SAEM) department of the Rowland School of Business at Point Park University seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Music Business at the rank of Assistant Professor; appointment to begin August 2026. We are seeking a candidate with a strong commitment to music business education and teaching excellence. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in music business as well as Sports, Arts, Entertainment and Music Business. Additional responsibilities may include student organization advising, mentoring students, curriculum development, and professional outreach. Terminal degree or equivalent professional experience required; MBA from an accredited institution preferred. The Sports, Arts, Entertainment and Music Business department serves close to 125 majors and takes advantage of Pittsburgh's dynamic urban environment with shadowing, internships, and jobs at world-class venues large and small just steps away from campus. SAEM students can take advantage of the student-run record label Pioneer Records which manages its own business office and practice stage. Music-focused students can serve on the Pioneer Records Board of Directors and act as volunteers to host on-campus entertainment activities. In addition, students annually attend the International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) Conference in Nashville, TN. Experiential opportunities also include supporting the annual Women Who Rock concert at Stage AE. We have academic partnerships with Stage AE, iHeart Media, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Red Caiman Studios through our student-run record label, Pioneer Records. Additionally, there are more than 100 organizations we partner with to offer our students a variety of shadowing and internship opportunities.
