About The Position

Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) invites applicants for a faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, starting August 1, 2026. Successful candidates will be able to teach math courses that serve the general education core (including introductory Statistics), majors of Biology, Chemistry, IT, and Exercise Science, as well as most of the courses in the Mathematics major. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, scholarship, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty). The Mathematics and Statistics Department is interested in candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and research, as well as experience working with students from various backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students, regardless of background. The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned and show strong commitment in service to the college and community.

Requirements

  • Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics (or a closely related field), on or before the semester of the start date with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline.
  • eligibility to work in the United States and proof of eligibility will be contemporaneously required upon acceptance of an employment offer.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check demonstrating your eligibility for employment with Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC).

  • Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with expertise in Applied Statistics and Actuarial Science might be given a preference
  • 1-year teaching experience
