The University of Akron School of Law will hire an assistant library professor on a twelve-month contract to begin as soon as possible. This is a law faculty non-tenure track position eligible for continuing appointment. The position includes equal voting rights and expected participation on faculty and university committees. The library professor will provide reference and research services, participate in collection development, and complete other duties as assigned. We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience or a strong interest in student services, electronic services, or developing legal technologies such as AI. In addition to the librarian duties, the library professor will teach in our LARW I program and Advanced Legal Research. Opportunities to teach LARW II, specialized research courses, and other courses to be determined. We invite applications from candidates who can both help fulfill curricular needs and support our strategic goals.
