About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Educating entry-level doctoral students in OT. Serving as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) for both the Galveston residential cohort and the Laredo hybrid cohort, with responsibilities includin ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Educating entry-level doctoral students in OT. Serving as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) for both the Galveston residential cohort and the Laredo hybrid cohort, with responsibilities including: Coordinating, developing, and overseeing all Level I and Level II fieldwork placements in accordance with ACOTE Standards Ensuring fieldwork experiences support the curriculum, meet supervisory requirements, and comply with all accreditation expectations. Maintaining fieldwork site partnerships, managing student placement processes, and supporting students and fieldwork educators throughout the experience. Monitoring, evaluating, and documenting fieldwork quality and outcomes for continuous program improvement. Contributing to ACOTE accreditation processes and providing necessary fieldwork documentation. WORK EXPERIENCE: Clinical practice mastery is important for this position as the individual will have to teach assessments and interventions. Experience in fieldwork education, supervision, or student mentorship is preferred

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree or equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed and registered occupational therapist (OTR).
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional practice, as required by ACOTE for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator.
  • Evidence of excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, teaching experience in OT program
  • team player who will come with a collaborative mind-set

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fieldwork education, supervision, or student mentorship is preferred

Responsibilities
