The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Criminal Justice, College Of Urban Affairs [R0146268] . Revised ROLE of the POSITION The incumbent will be in an academic faculty with responsibilities for instruction. Incumbent will serve as undergraduate coordinator working with Chair of the Department to ensure students have necessary courses to make optimal their educational progress. Individual will teach both in person and on-line courses. They will be expected to teach both required and elective courses. As an A contract employee incumbent will make him/her self-available the entire year to meet with students to answer questions with regard to academic issues. This will require a good working relationship with the College's Advising Office. PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE The Department of Criminal Justice has 16 full-time faculty members (including 11 tenured or tenure-track) and one of the largest undergraduate enrollments at UNLV with well over 1,000 majors. The department offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice. It also provides an M.S. in Emergency and Crisis Management and a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management Cybersecurity. As part of the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, the department promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, research, and scholarship. The College consists of three schools and two departments: The Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies, the School of Public Policy, the School of Social Work, the Department of Communication Studies, and the Department of Criminal Justice.
