Requirements

Candidates must have a MD or DO and be board certified or board eligible who have completed an ACGME accredited residency.
Applicants must hold a Virginia medical license and DEA certification.
The faculty candidate must be committed to a career in academic medicine and must be interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and research.

Responsibilities

Assess patients with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address functional limitations and improve quality of life.
Conducting thorough patient evaluations
Monitoring patient progress and making adjustments as needed
Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
The physician will provide care to patients in a hospital setting
Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff.
Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed
Participate in administrative, department policy and procedure development.
Participate in committees as assigned.
Communication skills to present teaching materials
Counseling of students for academic performance, life skills and professionalism
Manage day to day activities in accordance with EVMS policies and procedures and the policies and procedures of supporting institutions.
