About The Position

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education is a student-focused community of teacher-scholars passionate about creating impactful learning experiences that prepare students for successful, joyful and sustainable careers in education. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary and early childhood science education along with other education courses as needed, employing equity-centered, culturally relevant, and inclusive practices. The candidate's expertise will support efforts to broaden participation in the educator community and, specifically, science education. The candidate will engage in school partnerships reflective of our clinical-based program. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active education-based research and scholarly agenda in education, with opportunities for collaboration through university-supported initiatives and centers. The candidate will also mentor and advise undergraduate students, employing evidence-based strategies to support student success, including first-generation students, multilingual learners, students with disabilities, students who are LGBTQIA+, and those from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds as well as students from racial and ethnic groups historically underrepresented in science. The candidate will also provide service to the department and institution through participation in our model of shared governance, which may include contributions to curriculum development and program assessment.
