Assistant Adjunct Professor - Literacy, Special Education and Early Childhood Education
About The Position
The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Literacy, Special Education and Early Childhood Education (LESE) in the College of Education seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor, starting in January 2026. This position will teach Special and Inclusive Education courses online, including courses for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Endorsement. The course meeting times are arranged by the instructor. This position is eligible for a remote work schedule. Remote work must be performed within the state of Iowa. Employees who elect remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Education or Special Education
- Relevant teaching experience in the field
- Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Endorsements in Special Education and/or commensurate professional experience supporting special education students or educators
- Online teaching experience
- A record of excellence of teaching with evidence of a student-focused approach
Responsibilities
- Teach Special and Inclusive Education courses online

- Arrange course meeting times
