The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2026 as part of NC State's strategic engineering expansion. The department is seeking excellent candidates in the following areas Outstanding candidates outside these areas will be considered based on the candidates' qualifications and the strengths of the department.: AI Hardware: Design and implementation of hardware platforms for artificial intelligence and machine learning, including chip design, VLSI circuits, in-memory processing, integrated system design, computer architecture, accelerators, and hardware/software co-design for AI systems. Robotics: Autonomous systems, control theory, sensing and perception, drone and unmanned systems, and novel applications of robotics across domains such as machine learning, healthcare, defense applications, and environmental monitoring. Semiconductors: Advanced materials and device technologies with emphasis on wide-bandgap semiconductors. Candidates will contribute to undergraduate and graduate student education, likely teaching classes in areas as assigned.
