About The Position

The responsibility of the Assistant Professor in the Master of Counseling Department is to demonstrate high ability as a professor. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching core classes, advising graduate students, participating in the admissions processes, providing clinical supervision, engaging in scholarly activities, including publication and professional presentations, and participating in university, local, regional, and national service.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the CACREP Accreditation process
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Doctorate Degree in Counselor Education or related field
  • Unencumbered license to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida
  • Doctorate in Counselor Education or related field
  • 3+ years of teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Graduate of a CACREP Accredited Institution

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and design of courses and curriculum in their departments.
  • Provide instruction for students.
  • Advise and counsel students.
  • Keep class records, attendance, and submit grade reports.
  • Assist with the accreditation process.
  • Assist in the admission process.
  • Attend faculty and other required meetings.
  • Serve on committees of the University upon election or appointment.
  • Attend academic convocation, consecration, commencement ceremonies, and other contractual events.
  • Perform such administrative duties as may be specifically designated in annual or special contracts.
  • Engage in research, scholarly, and/or creative works.
  • Engage in service to the discipline and the University.
  • Provide for course-level evaluation.
  • Provide assessment data to the department chair.
  • Other duties as assigned.
