The Department of Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Counseling at The University of Alabama invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning August 16, 2026. Minimum qualifications include (1) A doctoral degree in school psychology or allied field, and (2) eligibility for certification as a school psychologist and/or licensure as a psychologist in Alabama, as well as a commitment to obtain these state credentials if hired. Candidates wishing to be hired at the level of Associate Profession should have evidence of a clear and sustained record of research, teaching, service, and external funding in school psychology. Candidates applying at the level of Assistant Professor should demonstrate promise to excel in each of these scholarly areas and roles. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in graduate instruction, supervision, and student mentoring. Candidates should also have a strong commitment to responsive and ethical practice. The Department of Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Counseling houses a flourishing School Psychology program that offers a face-to-face PhD in School Psychology and both face-to-face and distance learning degrees (MA/EdS) in School Psychology. The program is NASP accredited, and we are seeking accreditation from APA. A successful candidate will join four existing school psychology faculty and a vibrant student community.
