About The Position

The Department of Life Sciences at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professional Professor of General Biology/Biomedical Science. The incumbent will support our education mission at the undergraduate level and will be expected to perform services to support the department and the university. The major responsibility of this position will be to teach undergraduate courses in the areas of microbiology, molecular biology, animal physiology and health. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to coordinate undergraduate teaching laboratories, supervise teaching assistants and contribute to curriculum development. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2026, but start date is negotiable. Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
  • Proven experience in teaching undergraduate level biology/biomedical courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective methods in teaching, classroom management, student assessment and advisement.
  • Engagement in service activities to support institutional, professional society, and community goals.
  • Experience with curriculum reform or innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in supervising ABSL II facilities.
