Responsibilities

  • Assign, train, delegate and oversee the job assignments of production and shipping and receiving team members throughout their shift to maximize efficiency throughout the departments.
  • Responsible for the enforcement of all company factory rules, policies, and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Address team member performance issues and apply the Klauer progressive discipline process consistently with the support of Production Supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Act with direction from supervisor to ensure production and shipping schedules are efficient and timely.
  • Conduct routine quality audits in both production and shipping to verify product specifications, packaging accuracy, labeling compliance, and adherence to company and customer quality standards.
  • Routinely walk production floor to assist with quality and safety initiatives.
  • Use metrics and root cause analysis to identify and establish improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor the production and shipping schedules to ensure acceptable on-time deliveries.
  • Review production schedules and process flows to objectively evaluate obstacles preventing product delivery including monitoring internal lead times.
  • Use lean manufacturing tools to reduce setups, cycle times, scrap, and work in process inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
