About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day production activities, leading continuous improvement and cost savings projects, and serving as a backup for Production Supervisors and Production Managers. This role requires a strong focus on operational excellence, project management, and leadership development, with a clear path towards a future managerial position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required – Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years of related production leadership experience – metal fabrication concepts and processes exposure a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate through written and oral communication
  • Broad knowledge of general manufacturing processes and systems
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interactions with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC software (MS Office, Spreadsheets, Crystal Reports) and ERP systems
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid decision-making
  • Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word required

Responsibilities

  • Has a thorough working knowledge of all UA work centers including machinery, processes, safety, material handling, and computer related transactions.
  • Assist in conducting interviews in conjunction with HR and Production Manager and select qualified candidates for production positions.
  • Onboard new hires in conjunction with WFD/TA and provide them with comprehensive training
  • Oversee employee scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all shifts
  • Assist and provide feedback for performance evaluations and implement employee development plans
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment for all team members
  • Provide direct support by being present on the floor, answering questions, and removing hurdles for staff to accomplish daily goals.
  • In the absence of Production Supervisors and Production Managers, assume their responsibilities and directly supervise production teams and/or oversee all aspects of production operations.
  • Responsible for tracking manpower and day-to-day manpower adjustments
  • Monitor production progress and identify potential bottlenecks or delays
  • Implement corrective actions to maintain production efficiency and meet deadlines
  • Schedules hours of work for production
  • Able to flex shifts and change work schedule when required or as requested
  • Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement
  • Leads continuous improvement projects for all areas related to production
  • Prepare production reports and present key metrics to management
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
