About The Position

Tuacahn Theatre is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Production Manager. This full-time benefits-eligible position requires someone who has demonstrated knowledge in production management or multiple areas of theatrical production, who is skilled in working with theatrical artists and actors. Applicants for this role should have exceptional communication, project management and organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to be accurate and detail oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

  • 5 years of experience in production management, stage management, arts administration, or a different applicable field
  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements, IATSE, and Actor's Equity Association
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors for extended periods of time in a desert climate
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends and overtime during peak seasons
  • An intermediate understanding of theatrical lighting, audio, and video systems.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA standards

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with all department supervisors and technical crew leads to provide staff and seasonal employees with the resources and support needed
  • Attend and supervise technical rehearsals involving IATSE crew while serving as anon-site communicator between production staff and stage management
  • Uphold safety standards and practices and enforce company policy through orientation,training, and progressive discipline
  • Observe and assist in addressing any communication-related challenges or conflicts thatarise within the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment
  • Recruit and hire full time and seasonal IATSE crew members for productions, concerts, and events
  • Assist Production Manager with creating production and technical calendars.
  • Attend production meetings and run throughs.
  • Take notes at production meetings and run-throughs.
  • Cover or attend technical rehearsals and preview performances as determined by the Production Manager.
  • Liaise with the creative team, to maintain high quality, timelessness, efficiency and vision, in the absence of the Production Manager.
  • Liaise with Stage Management to maintain accurate room and rehearsal needs throughout the season.
  • Work with the Production Manager to advance all concerts and special events throughout the season.
  • Assist the Production Manager with expense projections.
  • Manage and organize IT for the production department; this includes creating and updating all production calendars, creating work call itineraries, and maintaining all Gdrive production folders.
  • Oversee stocking of first aid kits and safety supplies.
  • Assist with special events, projects and rentals.
  • Coordinate meals for crew on overnight calls.
