About The Position

Bishop DuBourg High School, a co-ed Catholic school committed to educating a diverse community and helping young people reach their full potential, is accepting applications for an Assistant Principal for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, twelve‑month position supports the mission of our Catholic school by assisting the Principal in the management of the school, faculty, staff, and students, with a major emphasis on student life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in education and/or educational leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching and leadership roles.
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Ability to maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, in collaboration with the Principal and faculty, for all facets of student life and activities, fostering a positive and effective learning environment and school culture.
  • Collaborate with Campus Ministry and Guidance to ensure comprehensive student support resources are available and effectively utilized.
  • Work with the Principal to develop and implement policies and procedures for the school-wide discipline system, ensuring alignment with the Student/Parent Handbook.
  • Oversee student supervision, including creation of faculty supervision schedules for the school day and after‑school activities.
  • Support and assist faculty with student behavior management.
  • Develop initiatives, in partnership with the Principal and faculty, that nurture student leadership within the school community.
  • Promote student participation in school activities by creating, supporting, and supervising Student Life programs, including clubs, the House System, non‑athletic extracurriculars, and special events such as prom and graduation.
