About The Position

The Elementary Assistant Principal plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations and instructional leadership of an elementary school. This position works in close collaboration with the Principal to promote effective teaching and learning, implement data-driven instructional strategies, and ensure a safe, engaging, and student-centered school culture. Requirements

  • Valid Kansas administrative license issued by the Kansas State Board of Education
  • Minimum of three (3) years of combined teaching and administrative experience
  • Master’s degree in Educational Administration or related field
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods
  • Occasional lifting, stooping, bending, and reaching required
  • Must be able to work in noisy, crowded environments and travel as needed
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at the worksite are required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading professional development initiatives preferred
  • Knowledge of Title I programs and reporting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee instructional practices within the building by analyzing student achievement data, supporting curriculum implementation, and guiding teachers in planning and delivering high-quality instruction aligned with district standards.
  • Support daily school operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and staff support, to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff to ensure effective performance and instructional quality.
  • Plan and lead professional development activities and coaching sessions that align with school improvement goals and foster staff growth.
  • Coordinate with families and community organizations to support student learning, promote family engagement, and enhance school-community partnerships.
  • Lead and manage Title I parent involvement activities and communication.
  • Implement and monitor behavior and safety protocols, assist with student discipline, and contribute to crisis prevention and response plans.
  • Support student success through behavior intervention strategies and inclusive school climate initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations, including Title I and state assessment requirements.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit accurate reports and documentation as required.
  • Participate in professional development, maintain current knowledge of educational practices, and perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
