The Assistant Principal of Operations (“APO”) provides excellent operational support to one specific KIPP Jacksonville school to help realize their mission by providing high-quality and personalized service to students, staff, and families at their school. The APO provides the daily support needed to make operations run smoothly at their school. The APO position leads the strategic vision of operations at the school level. The APO position provides support for a variety of stakeholders and problem-solves operational issues. This role is ideal for someone with previous K-12 leadership experience and can articulate commitments to educational equity and operational excellence that mirror the region’s vision and goals. Success in this role is measured by (1) day-to-day operations effectiveness (2) family satisfaction metrics (3) hitting student enrollment metrics (4) school operations staff retention. The APO typically manages all other school-based operations team members and performs other duties as assigned by the Principal. The APO reports directly to the Principal but has a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Operations at the Regional level. The Sr. Director of Operations provides regional support, coaching, and regional context/metrics for the APOs across the region and the Principal manages them/evaluates them. The APO is part of the school-based operations team and is a year-round employee. Typical hours for school-based leaders are aligned to that school Monday through Friday and there may be occasional meetings, special school events, or commitments that fall outside of these hours.
