About The Position

At The Learning Experience®, our Preschool Program provides children with a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play-based, hands-on experiences that support cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Our classrooms are structured, engaging, and designed to help children build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to support children ages 2 years and up in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Assistant Preschool Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences. This role is ideal for a dependable early childhood professional who enjoys working with young children, collaborating with a teaching team, and helping maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Preschool or Early Childhood Education setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Understanding of preschool-age development and classroom routines
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable, patient, and team-oriented
  • Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Support children’s social-emotional development, communication, and independence
  • Assist with daily routines including meals, toileting, transitions, and rest time
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure safety
  • Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior support strategies
  • Help observe and document children’s progress as directed by the Lead Teacher
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with team members
  • Follow all state licensing regulations, health, and safety procedures
  • Assist with classroom organization, materials, and cleanliness
