About The Position

Geode is a global institutional asset manager providing core beta exposures across a range of equity and niche asset classes, including commodities and options, for registered funds, commingled pools and separately managed accounts. Geode currently manages over $1.5 trillion in AUM across the products it advises and sub-advises. Geode is seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager to become an integral member of our Commodity and Options fund management team. This position offers the opportunity to work as an individual contributor embedded within the Portfolio Management team, reporting directly to the Team Lead, Senior Portfolio Manager. This role is located in Boston, Massachusetts and is a hybrid work environment opportunity with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.

Requirements

  • BA Degree in Finance, Business or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience within the investment management industry preferred
  • Knowledge of global markets including an understanding of commodities and options strategies - experience working with derivatives, margin and collateral
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work under pressure and time constraints
  • Familiarity with using Bloomberg, Charles River Development (CRD), Microsoft Office Suite
  • A self-motivated team player capable of working well with colleagues across the business to drive projects or tasks through to completion
  • Enjoys working in a collegial environment and thrives in a dynamic and growing organization

Responsibilities

  • Assist Portfolio Managers in the day-to-day management of all systematic commodities and volatility strategies
  • Ensure that all portfolios are managed within their investment objectives and guidelines.
  • Analyze and interpret risk reports, monitor cash flows, and evaluate trades to keep portfolios in line with performance expectations
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements that streamline the portfolio management workflow, minimize manual processes and help to integrate the team with other business units
  • Understand and articulate the drivers of performance attribution for each strategy
  • Assist in client reporting and other ad-hoc analysis
  • Be primary liaison with Operations, Trading, Trade Settlement and Support
