About The Position

This position is responsible for the daily supervision of the operation of the Rice pool.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be able to lead, manage, and motivate assigned staff.
  • Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal; and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • This position must have an adult/child CPR and National Pool and Water Park Lifeguard Training Certificate.
  • Must have ServSafe certificate.
  • Must be able to: occasionally remain in a stationary position for long periods with repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer when pools are closed.
  • This position must be able to occasionally move a body from the pool with assistance which can be over over 50 lbs. and rarely over shoulders and head.
  • This position will be required to frequently move about the pool deck and offices and position ones self to be able to perform CPR on adults and children.
  • This position must be able to be exposed to all extreme summer weather conditions including heat, sun, rain, and varying degrees of temperature and light.
  • This position will also be exposed to pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two (2) seasons of aquatic leadership with the Wheaton Park District preferred.
  • A.F.O., C.P.O., or State of Illinois Pool Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in interpreting and enforcing all state, county and park district rules, regulations and policies.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating staff in-service training.
  • Assist in preparing reports, statistics and evaluations of all aspects of aquatic facility.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies and inventory.
  • Assist with pre-season and post-season maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe environment through total knowledge of functions and operations of all safety rescue and first aid equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment inventory.
  • Must be able to work with the public and problem solve.
  • Schedule staff.
  • Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  • Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures
