Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Industrial Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or Management is required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related manufacturing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the following areas highly preferred: SAP, MES, Personnel Safety, Food Safety and Employee Training in a Manufacturing Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the plant food safety and quality programs.
  • Ensure employee practices comply with regulatory and company quality policies.
  • Ensure products conformance to specifications.
  • Ensure equipment, buildings and contractors comply with company quality policies.
  • Investigate and coordinate the correction of any deviation to food safety or quality programs in conjunction with Plant Manager and Quality.
  • Drive the plant safety programs.
  • Directs employee practices to ensure they comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
  • Develop methods to ensure equipment and plant conditions comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
  • Foster and support the Sargento Culture.
  • Monitor employee interactions to ensure compliance with our corporate culture.
  • Create an open two-way dialogue with all employees to promote morale and motivation of workforce.
  • Complete employee evaluations that provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Work with Plant Manager to develop succession plans for key positions in the facility.
  • Ensures employee training is current.
  • Plan and prioritize plant activities
  • Assist Plant Manager with planning and monitoring plant annual budget for capital, expenditures and product costs.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects in the areas of safety, quality and productivity.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist managers in solving work problems.
  • Use technical tools/systems required to support manufacturing (SAP, Corporate Documentum, MES, Maintenance Excellence, etc.)
  • Drive use of training system in plant.
  • Leads cross functional teams utilizing good project management techniques.
  • Lead or participate in cost reduction teams/projects.
  • Lead or participate in agency audits, customer audits and customer tours.
  • Stay current with industry practices by participating in organizations, technology shows, etc.
  • Has the ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support plant operating hours.
  • Manages subordinate managers in a production environment. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned areas. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
