About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager plays a key role in overseeing plant operations, supporting production goals, ensuring safety standards, and collaborating across departments. This position serves as a second-in-command to the Plant Manager, with leadership duties spanning production, post production, and personnel development.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or construction
  • Experience in precast concrete or similar industrial manufacturing environments
  • Comfortable with digital systems, spreadsheets, and production software
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May require traveling 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to complete a 7-year background check.
  • We also conduct pre-employment drug testing.
  • Any job offer will be based on the results of background and drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate daily precast production schedules
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide hands-on support to teams
  • Ensure product quality standards are consistently met
  • Enforce all safety policies and OSHA regulations across the plant
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe practices throughout the facility
  • Assist in managing raw material inventory and usage
  • Optimize material flow and staging areas to minimize delays
  • Supervise production leads and hourly workforce
  • Support training and development of new and existing employees
  • Maintain accountability, attendance, and performance standards
  • Notifies the maintenance department of equipment problems.
  • Support equipment maintenance and preventative programs
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and QC teams to resolve issues
  • Assist the Plant Manager in data reporting, allocating personnel resources, and continuous improvement
  • Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
