As Assistant Parts Manager, you will assist the Parts Manager in meeting the established goals for profit and return through wholesale and retail sales of parts.

  • High school diploma or the equivalent and five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard practices
  • Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on the morale of the department, dealership, and organization

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • ASE Certification preferred but not required
  • i-Car Certification preferred but not required
  • Specific manufacturer's certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Parts Manager in meeting the established goals for profit and return through wholesale and retail sales of parts.
  • Ensure our customers have a world-class experience at every step along their journey.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate information to dealership personnel as well as a non-technical audience as required.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for stocking, inventory control, and customer service, and understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect the parts department.
  • Effectively assist in the hiring of personnel required to meet departmental and organizational goals
  • Supervise employees, including recommending discipline and terminations of personnel to meet departmental and organizational goals
  • Effectively lead a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for stocking, inventory control, customer service, and associated duties in accordance with generally accepted standards and company policy
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect parts department including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal, emergency response, safe driving, and OSHA Right-to-Know
  • Ensure that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly by all employees in the parts department
  • Facilitate and/or conduct technical training
