About The Position

The Division of Pediatric Pathology at Children's Wisconsin (CW), within the Department of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), is seeking a full-time pediatric pathologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position includes a full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology at MCW at a rank and salary commensurate with experience. The successful candidate should hold an MD/DO degree or foreign medical equivalent, qualify for an unrestricted Wisconsin medical license, and be board eligible/board-certified in pediatric pathology. MCW offers our faculty an enriching environment with myriad administrative, clinical, educational, and research opportunities spanning the whole spectrum of academic pediatric pathology. Clinical responsibilities will include anatomic pathology work in the division of Pediatric Pathology at CW with shared call responsibilities and autopsy coverage. Academic responsibilities will include teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and participation in clinical, translational, or basic science research. The Division of Pediatric Pathology offers services in anatomic pathology, hematopathology, flow cytometry, molecular testing, clinical chemistry, and microbiology. It offers subspecialty expertise in hematopathology, cytopathology, pediatric solid tumor pathology, vascular malformations, and perinatal/placental pathology. Divisional faculty are strongly involved in the activities and leadership of the Children's Oncology Group and Society for Pediatric Pathology. The division has an ACGME-accredited pediatric pathology fellowship program, and AP/CP residents routinely rotate on service. It annually handles over 6,500 surgical pathology & cytopathology specimens, 250 bone marrow specimens, 1,200 placentas, and 40 autopsies. The CW Laboratory performs over 1,050,000 tests at its main lab and three additional satellite laboratories. Each year, the Children's Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care, advocacy, research and education. In Northeast Wisconsin, Children's Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. This includes a pediatric hospital, with a Pediatric Unit, Level III NICU and Infusion Center, which is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI. A multispecialty pediatric ambulatory clinic with on-site laboratory and radiology services opened in Appleton, Wis. in 2023. Children's and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin - the Children's Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children's Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions. Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, is located on Lake Michigan's western shore. A metropolitan area with more than 1.5 million people, Milwaukee is an affordable, comfortable place to live, work, and play, big enough to be exciting and uncongested enough to get around easily. Requirements

The successful candidate should hold an MD/DO degree or foreign medical equivalent
Qualify for an unrestricted Wisconsin medical license
Be board eligible/board-certified in pediatric pathology.
