About The Position

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution (by the time of appointment)
  • Ability and desire to develop and teach undergraduate courses serving the Civil Engineering Department
  • A demonstrated record of research excellence, commensurate with career stage.
  • Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Civil Engineering topics relevant to the undergraduate Civil Engineering program, particularly topics that complement those of the other faculty in the department
  • Past experience with and commitment to excellent teaching at the university level, or demonstrated ability to develop potential in this area
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, successful proposals, etc.). or evidence of commitment to developing an active research program
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external partners
  • Industry and/or government experience relevant to the applicant’s career path
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral
  • Experience with mentorship, or potential to develop mentorship skills
  • Professional engineering licensure, or the ability to obtain professional engineering licensure
