About The Position

The Assistant Operator will assist the main operator in making ready, maintaining, and operating corrugated manufacturing press machines, including rotary die cutters, Flexo folder gluers, labeler, and folder gluer machinery. This role involves observing and monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments. Key tasks include feeding, catching, and stacking corrugated sheets at machine feed and stacking stations. The Assistant Operator will also oversee and perform order setups, which includes setting heads, mounting print plates and dies, and ensuring safety, quality, and required housekeeping standards are met. All orders must be completed to specifications, including any special instructions. Additional duties may be assigned by managers, supervisors, or shift leaders, potentially including parts and hand assembly.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications, division and use of a tape measure
  • Ability to work in an environment that is often hot in the summer and cool in the winter
  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 50lbs)
  • Ability to stand throughout entire shift
  • Candidates must be available to work overtime & on Saturdays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist the operator in making ready, maintaining and operating corrugated manufacturing press machine in which you are assigned (rotary die cutters, Flexo folder gluers, labeler and folder gluer machinery)
  • Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed
  • Feed, catch and stack corrugated sheets at machine feed and stacking stations
  • Oversee/perform order setups including setting heads, mounting of print plates and dies
  • Maintain safety, quality and required housekeeping standards
  • Ensure all orders are completed to specifications including “special instructions” if applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader which may include parts and hand assembly
