About The Position

Under the guidance of the Senior Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager supports the operational responsibilities for the waterpark, ensuring that all departmental safety, training, and compliance responsibilities are executed with excellence for Typhoon Texas Austin Waterpark. This role requires strong operational and leadership skills to effectively guide team members in meeting guest experience expectations while achieving company goals and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must obtain a Lifeguard License for Special Facilities and an Instructor certification through Ellis & Associates.
  • Must be able to work in warm/humid settings and hot/humid weather for outdoor waterpark environments.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays while exposed to all types of weather.?
  • May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, or balance.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as basic computer skills and app-based technology.?
  • Able to obtain the following certifications: OSHA-10 Certification, CPO or AFO Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a team-focused and others-first mentality is always demonstrated to assist the business with exceeding community and corporate expectations by partnering with and supporting all team members.
  • Manage direct reports while providing clear expectations for projects, goals, and daily operations to ensure all direct reports follow and/or enforce company and park policies. Shared by Park Leadership and/or outlined within the Typhoon Texas Code of Conduct, Appearance Policy, Pyek Playbook, and Employee Handbook.
  • Assist in regular training, guidance, and instruction with excellence to each direct report, including but not limited to new hire/re-hire training, pre-season training, in-service training, as well as daily employee feedback.
  • Responsible for assisting Human Resources to recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline all direct reports.
  • Support the Operations Admin to schedule all employees of the Operations team to be onsite in compliance with company standards, including before, during, and after compliance checklists.
  • Assist all operations stated deadlines regarding opening and closing of the park, in and out of season.
  • Assist in developing, executing, and holding accountable for comprehensive procedures for daily park cleanliness, attraction operations, training, safety, leadership expectations, and cleanliness with excellence.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly inspections that are recorded in Mobaro. Be responsive and accountable for required completion and record retention of checklists, inspections, inventory, and timesheets.
  • Ensure all Water Safety and Park Services positions meet excellent operational standards by regularly inspecting and auditing the team while coaching everyone to meet with excellence and expected results.
  • Ensure all guest-facing areas, team member areas, back-of-house areas, and storage areas associated with Operations meet or exceed company cleanliness, inventory, and organization standards while resolving concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all dispatch control systems, training equipment, daily equipment, and guest-facing furniture (chairs, tables, umbrellas, etc.) are properly maintained, inventoried, and serviced by prioritizing a proactive approach to ensure operating efficiency and safety for guests and employees with excellence. Report repairs using Mobaro.
  • Review, understand, and ensure compliance with all local and national codes relevant to our area of business, including Model Aquatic Health Code, ASTM, Health Department, ADA Code, OSHA Code, Ellis & Associates, etc.
  • Report facility issues that are not immediately repairable to the Senior Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Meet or exceed any assigned deadline with minimal supervision for all key responsibilities and properly report to your supervisor any deadlines that could possibly be missed.
  • Other duties as designated by the Senior Operations Manager, General Manager, Vice-President(s), and/or President.
