About The Position
Position Summary: Work in coordination with the Patient Care Unit Director to ensure the work is accomplished safely and effectively.
Requirements
- Current licensure in the State of North Carolina or compact state as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification required
- 3-5 years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Serves as leadership support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on PCU-specific clinical issues
- Serves as the leader support for the PCU when the Director is unavailable.
- Supervising, directing, coaching and mentoring staff with the direction of the department Director
- Responsible for the scheduling of staff for the department
- Participate with the Director in the interview process and selection of new staff
- Consult with Educator, preceptors and orientees on a regular basis to provide support and for new employees and ongoing competency planning
- At Director’s request assist in personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities
