Our Operating Room nursing team members have an opportunity to participate in innovative perioperative technology, and the advancement of patient care through ongoing research, education and quality improvement activities. Requirements
- 2 years of current or recent Surgical nursing experience
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Responsibilities
- Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
- Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
- Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations
- Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
- Oversees patient placement and throughput
- Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)
- Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care
- Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
- Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
- Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
- Provides “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
- Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
