Our Operating Room nursing team members have an opportunity to participate in innovative perioperative technology, and the advancement of patient care through ongoing research, education and quality improvement activities. Requirements

  • 2 years of current or recent Surgical nursing experience
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
  • Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
  • Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations
  • Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
  • Oversees patient placement and throughput
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)
  • Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care
  • Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
  • Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
  • Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
  • Provides “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
  • Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
