About The Position

The Emergency Department at Windham Hospital provides patients with high levels of care, with symptoms ranging from traumas to the common cold to drug overdoses and everything in between. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Providers, Nursing Assistants, and administrative staff. The Emergency Department at Windham is equipped with 23 beds, including a fast-track area, and behavioral health space. Our RNs see a wide variety of patients, including those with behavioral health and opioid related needs. Our staff prides itself in its flexibility, initiative to help others in need as well as our strong cohesiveness as a team which ultimately gives our patients the highest level of care they expect and deserve. The Assistant Nurse Manager (Clinical Resource Leader) is recognized as the clinical expert in emergency care and a leadership role model for Registered Nurses and all staff under their supervision. Directs the work in such a way to ensure the overall movement of patients through the ED in a safe and efficient manner. This position will assign all patient care activities assuring that staff are qualified to care for assigned patients, support team members, and ensure quality and service excellence to our patients. They will also, facilitate challenging ED situations. The ASN (CRL) will appropriately assign the workload. Responsible for monitoring & maintaining staff performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required (a qualified candidate in the process of completing the education requirement will be considered)
  • Minimum 2 years Emergency Room RN experience required.
  • Charge or supervisory experience required.
  • Currently certified in ACLS or completion within 3 months of employment.
  • PALS required within 6 months of employment.
  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license required prior to start date
