Orion has an exciting opportunity for a creative thinker with a passion for media trends and innovations to launch their career as an Assistant Negotiator on our Activation team. The Assistant Negotiator is a key contributor to the Integrated team, assisting the day-to-day stewarding of media activity and client deliverables.â This role will allow you to showcase your strong organizational and communication skills, updating client documents, and assisting in the development and negotiation of media plans across a variety of clients.â Additionally, the Assistant Negotiator will become well-versed in the processes and procedures necessary for the daily maintenance of accounts, solving complex problems, and developing new perspectives to drive innovative solutions for clients and teams.

Requirements

  • Curiosity for the media/advertising biz
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with solid organization skills, and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and integrity

  • Previous internship in related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of clients' goals and strategies
  • Assist in inputting and tracking media buys
  • Analyze and negotiate media schedules
  • Manage the posting process by analyzing and monitoring network schedules and performances
  • Review billing discrepancies with buyers and resolve in a timely manner
  • Compile research data to advise recommendations
  • Develop audience estimates for programming
  • Recommend new ways of more efficiently managing and maintaining clients' schedules and processes
  • Develop effective negotiation skills
  • Learn how to develop buys from pre-buy to execution
  • Establish positive working relationships with all Orion colleagues, media vendors, partner agencies and clients
  • Become a market/network expert and share marketplace knowledge
  • Gain expertise in media research tools (e.g. Nielsen)
