About The Position

The Assistant Mentoring BCBA (aMBCBA) serves as a key clinical leader, responsible for supporting and guiding early-career BCBAs through structured mentorship, performance oversight, and professional development. This role requires a strong balance of billable service provision and leadership responsibilities to ensure both high-quality client outcomes and the continued growth of the clinical team. The aMBCBA will be the first line of support for BCBAs, leading team meetings, hosting office hours, and maintaining clinical excellence through ongoing auditing and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • BCBA Certification in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in applied behavior analysis.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising RBTs or BCBAs preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, ethical guidelines, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for mentorship and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage clinical oversight while maintaining billable expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Supervision & Mentorship: Provide structured mentorship and ongoing clinical guidance to BCBAs.
  • Offer scheduled office hours to provide first-line support for BCBAs needing guidance on clinical cases, ethical considerations, and documentation best practices.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to improve BCBA competency in case management, treatment plan development, and effective client interventions for all low priority need private meeting request.
  • Act as an onboarding mentor for newly hired BCBAs, guiding them through organizational procedures, clinical protocols, and performance expectations.
  • Support BCBAs in the process of requesting private meeting requests or securing referrals to the MBCBA or Clinical Director for complex clinical cases. Providing evidence-based recommendations to ensure informed decision-making and effective intervention strategies are being employed
  • Performance Monitoring & Compliance Auditing: Conduct weekly and monthly audits of BCBAs' performance, ensuring adherence to key productivity indicators (KPIs), including billable hour requirements and caseload management.
  • Review on-time report submissions, identifying trends in late or incomplete reports, and providing corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Work closely with the MBCBA and Clinical Director to analyze department-wide KPI trends, ensuring that performance benchmarks align with organizational goals.
  • Track and report Clinical team performance data, identifying areas for additional training or support for BCBAs and/or Program Managers (PMs).
  • Ensure BCBAs are maintaining proper documentation and compliance with ethical and legal standards in ABA service delivery such as but not limited to FSOs.
  • Training & Development: Develop and maintain a Clinical Resource Training Library, offering training materials, recorded workshops, case studies, and best practice guidelines for BCBAs.
  • Lead some monthly team meetings to discuss clinical updates, case consultations, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Conduct targeted training workshops on clinical best practices, data collection efficiency, ethics, and client advocacy as needed.
  • Assist in refining training protocols and competency checklists to ensure structured BCBA development.
  • Collaborate with the MBCBAs and Clinical Director to ensure that training materials align with industry standards and company expectations.
  • Case Oversight & Quality Assurance: Provide case consultation and troubleshooting support for BCBAs experiencing difficulties in case management or clinical implementation.
  • Ensure BCBAs are maintaining client progress monitoring, modifying treatment plans as needed based on data trends.
  • Oversee treatment integrity and ensure that all programs are implemented with fidelity by conducting periodic case reviews.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review client progress and adjust intervention strategies accordingly.
  • Act as a liaison between BCBAs and the clinical leads to provide recommendations for high-priority cases.
  • Organizational Leadership & Operations: Assist with workflow optimization, helping BCBAs improve time management and service delivery efficiency
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improving clinical workflows, including data collection procedures and reporting structures.
  • Support the Clinical Director in implementing organizational policy updates and clinical initiatives
