Your Impact WNA is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager to support the leadership and continued development of our mechanical team. This role works closely with the Mechanical Team Manager and Principal In Charge (PIC) to support project delivery, team coordination, and departmental operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical engineering experience, emerging leadership capabilities, and a collaborative, results‑focused approach to the role. This opportunity is available at any of our three offices: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia or Portersville offices.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in Pennsylvania is required
  • 10+ years designing mechanical systems and experience on MEP projects from design through final construction
  • Strong understanding on all phases of project documentation development, production, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficient skills in AutoCAD and Revit 2022 or newer
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrates high level of personal integrity, professionalism, and self-awareness
  • Brings a collaborative mindset with the strong desire to develop both self and others
  • Possesses excellent analytical, facilitation and time management skills to drive results

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a management role leading teams is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Mechanical Team Manager in overseeing daily departmental operations and team performance.
  • Coordinate project schedules, deadlines, and workloads to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Support the full project lifecycle, including proposal review, project setup, execution, and closeout.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Principal in Charge, Team Managers, Project Managers, and project teams.
  • Support client communication, expectations, and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with WNA standards, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, schedule changes, risks, and corrective actions; communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with project budgeting, pricing analysis, forecasting, invoicing, and hours tracking.
  • Mentor junior staff, set clear expectations, delegate tasks effectively, and support professional development.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment and support staffing and resource planning needs.
  • Handle employee concerns with professionalism and confidentiality, and collaborating with the Team Manager or Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
