About The Position

Provides fast, friendly service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for the operation of the meat department in the absence of the meat manager. Cuts all meat in accordance with trim "specs" and guidelines and ensures the quality and freshness of product in the meat case to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Responsible for providing excellent customer service (both internally and externally) and courtesy on an on-going basis. Must adhere to all sanitation guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Previous experience in a meat department or food retail (required)
• Knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and handling procedures
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Satisfactory performance reviews
• Basic computer skills
• Strong communication skills
• High School Degree or equivalent
• 6-12 months of related experience

Nice To Haves

• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the meat department
• Ensure proper cutting, trimming, and merchandising of meat products
• Maintain high standards of freshness, quality, and food safety
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and product rotation (FIFO)
• Support scheduling, training, and coaching of team members
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health regulations, and sanitation standards
• Assist in achieving sales, shrink, and profitability goals
• Step in to lead the department in the Meat Manager’s absence
